Privacy Policy

Locals Club ("we," "us," the "Service") is operated by Hellion Studios, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our mobile apps, merchant apps, and website, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

What we collect

Account information

When you sign up we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), zip code, and — for verification — a one-time comparison between your stated home address and your device's current location. We do not store your ongoing location history.

Redemption data

When you redeem an offer we log the offer ID, the merchant, the redemption time, and (for merchants using Square) a link to the matched transaction on their POS. This is what makes our commission model work and lets you see your own redemption history in the app.

Merchant data

For businesses on Locals Club: we receive read access to your Square account catalog, locations, and completed payments via Square OAuth. We use this strictly to power your offers and reconcile redemptions. We do not initiate refunds, withdrawals, or new transactions on your account.

Device and diagnostic data

Standard app crash and performance data (device model, OS version, anonymized crash traces) via Firebase Crashlytics. This is aggregated and not tied to your identity in any UI.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We do not run third-party ad networks in the app.
• We do not share individual redemption history with merchants — they see aggregate stats only.
• We do not track your background location outside verification.
• We do not sync your contacts, calendar, camera roll, or messages.

Who we share data with

Locals Club uses these processors:

• Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, hosting, crash reporting.
• Stripe — payment processing for merchant commissions. Card data is stored with Stripe, never on our servers.
• Square — POS integration for merchants who connect it. Data flows in both directions per merchant authorization.

We only share data with these processors as strictly required to run the Service. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or affiliates.

Your rights

You can:

• Access or download your data by emailing tyson@hellionstudios.com.
• Delete your account from the app settings — this removes your profile, saved offers, and redemption history within 30 days.
• Opt out of any marketing SMS or email at any time (one-tap in the app or via "unsubscribe" on any email).

Data retention

Account and redemption data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is purged within 30 days. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained for product improvement.

Children

Locals Club is not directed to anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be surfaced in-app before they take effect.
